CareNotes circulates practices and analyses transforming how we can reproduce life beyond profits and power through books, interviews, and e-newsletters.

By 2016, Black Lives Matter, Standing Rock, and Ni Una Menos inspired a new wave of mobilizations following the Arab Spring, the square movements, and Occupy Wall Street. In parallel, healthcare workers' strikes and student movements across North and South America crystallized a shared desire: to reproduce bodies, communities and ecologies, not capital.

CareNotes was founded in 2016 with a critical yet spirited commitment to circulate a new generation of analyses across workplaces, assemblies, kitchens, cooperatives, and mobilizations. Each publication and interview intersect to reveal the centrality of social reproduction within daily life and our political struggles.

Our work emerged from a shared reality: either we reproduce capital and intensify our exploitation, or we reproduce life. We reject the institutional impulses to segment movements and reproduction workers as objects of study. Instead, we trace and explore the hidden connections between our struggles that are critical to overcoming the fragmentation felt globally.

Whether we labor in hospitals, schools, farms, gig jobs, at home, or in defense of our ecologies, and whether this work is coerced, waged, or unpaid, we are all reproduction workers. And the fate of our bodies, relationships, and ecologies are now so deeply entwined, that we must reproduce them together or suffer. This is why our texts and interviews are cultivated with, and circulated among those most directly affected by the crisis of social reproduction through assemblies, picket lines, dinners, social centers, and workplaces.
